If you're looking for an experienced, flexible, well versed front-end Web developer, XHTML/CSS designer, Web analyst, Usability analyst or Project Manager you've come to the right place.
My current technical focus is XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and standards-based Web development. For the last four years I’ve focused on implemented standards-based, accessible, semantically structured Web sites. I’m currently expanding my XHTML knowledge into areas such as XML, XSLT, and Microformats. My experience with CSS Design is moving me towards AJAX for well designed interactive Web sites.
Having been involved in the process of Web and Software development for over 15 years I’ve seen many successes and failures. Many of the failures are the result of poor processes and planning. One of my recent successes is the completed redesign of Lumetra.com. We followed a structured redesign process including an in-depth discovery process, carefully crafted personas, competitor evaluation, paper prototyping, user testing, wire framing and a detailed design process. Following a structured process we created a clean well designed, easy to manage Web site that passed all of the Section 508 priority 1 checkpoints.
I’ve been managing projects and programs for the majority of my working life. From hundreds of print projects as an estimator and production planner in the printing industry for seven years, to managing beta programs for the Adobe Illustrator team and shipping 5 commercial software products for my own company, Cytopia Software. In 2001 I received a certificate in Program and Project Management from the University of California Santa Cruz.
In December of 2006 I passed Human Factors International’s Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) certification. Through years of technical support, product marketing and software design experience I am uniquely aware of the issues people have using Web sites and technology products. One favorite experiences is seeing that look on a customer's face that says, "I get it," when using a great technology product.
